Contractors Material Co. Supports its Community The company's founder, W.A. "Cotton" Caldwell, Sr., was instrumental in the fundraising that helped expand St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital in the 1960's through the 1980's. John H. Caldwell served as Chairman of the lay Board of Directors for many years as well. Magnolia Speech School in Jackson was of particular interest to Cotton, Sr. This very unique school offers hearing-disabled children the chance to communicate verbally in a way that most programs can not match. Contractors Material Co. created the Wesley A. Caldwell Foundation to create a permanent way to support organizations based in Mississippi. Over the past twenty plus years, the foundation has quietly donated funds to Hinds Community College, Mississippi State University, Millsaps College, Mississippi College, St. Dominic's, Boy Scouts of America, The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, The Mustard Seed, The Mississippi Animal Rescue League, and many others. More recent recipients include Jackson Academy and the Batson Childrens Hospital in Jackson. We continue our founder's heritage of giving today and tomorrow. The continuing friendship and patronage of our valued customers makes these gifts possible.
